We Can Be Heroes is putting on an indie disco on Sunday, 8th September at Signature Brew Blackhorse Road, E17. Join us for a whole afternoon of guitars and geeky coolness, from 1pm.

There will be live music from two different bands: the regular WCBH house band Dom Green's Indie Scene and Waltham Forest Battle of the Bands 2024 winners Last Minute! Plus the WCBH DJs playing awesome indie and alternative rock from the 90s to now, face painting, free comic books, giveaways, food and drink, and more. It's a whole festival in an afternoon!

We Can Be Heroes is an all-ages, daytime disco and live gig for the whole family. It’s for fans of comic books, superheroes, video games, science fiction, fantasy and every aspect of geek culture, past and present. The music is a mix of blockbuster soundtracks and 80s pop, upbeat indie, bouncy hip-hop, and big, silly rock. It's a place where parents and kids can dress up, dance, and generally get their geek on. It’s a whole afternoon of awesome!

​Whilst there isn’t a strict costume policy, everyone - grown-ups and kids – is encouraged to come dressed up as their favourite characters from comics, films, sci-fi, music or fantasy.

We run an event that strives to be both safe and inclusive. No adults admitted unless accompanied by a child. Also, please note that there will be live music at this event. Whilst we will make every effort to monitor the sound levels, you may want to consider ear protection for children.
