On Bank Holiday Friday, 18th April, we're returning to Signature Brew Blackhorse Road for an afternoon of live music showcasing young bands and artists: We Can Be Heroes... Just for One Day!

This all-ages event is an opportunity for young musicians to perform live on the big stage at Signature Brew, and everyone is welcome. It's free entry for under-18s, and just £5 for adults. Join us in celebrating the future of live music!

WCBH run events that strive to be safe and inclusive. We want to encourage young people to support each other, whether they're performing or watching. One adult can be responsible for up to six young people.

We welcome applications from any and all young musicians in any genre, from bands to solo performers. If you're aged 18 or under and want to perform, please visit our website and get an adult to submit the Google Form. Spaces are limited, and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fresh from a chart challenge with their Christmas hit 'Snow In Walthamstow' and run of high profile gigs in 2024, local favourites Turncoat Billy return to the stage for the first time this year with their unique blend of wit and melody for a thigh-slapping Sunday special matinee show. It's a star-studded line-up featuring some of the best local acts in North East London with the likes of LD Williams, Glenn Hodge Banned and Emmelin all confirmed. All ages are welcome with doors from 2pm and keeping you grooving before and after the acts will be celebrated local DJ Mick The Technician spinning tunes from across the decades from Detroit to Doncaster.

Join star of C4's The Change, Taskmaster, and much more, Bridget Christie for her work-in-progress new material show.

Bridget’s show A Bic For Her (which broke box office records at Soho Theatre) won many awards including, the Foster’s 2013 Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show, the 2014 South Bank Sky Arts Award for Best Comedy, the 2014 Chortle Award for Best Show and a 2014 Hospital 100 Club Award for Performance and Theatre.

In 2015, Bridget won a Marie Claire Woman at the Top Award and a Red Woman of the Year Award. Her hugely critically acclaimed 2016 show Because You Demanded It (about Britain’s decision to leave the European Union), was The Guardian’s No 1 Comedy of 2016, won the Chortle Award for Best show 2017 and completely sold out its Edinburgh and West End runs. Also in 2016 Bridget’s debut live stand-up special, Stand Up for Her, was streamed on Netflix, making her the first British female comedian with a stand up special on the streaming service.

Bridget’s third critically acclaimed radio series, Bridget Christie’s Utopia was a finalist in the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2018 for Best Comedy (longform) and her fourth series, Mortal won this award in 2022.

Her debut book, A Book for Her received critical acclaim and was one of the Top 100 Books for Christmas in The Telegraph, the Top Ten Comedy Books in The List and Book of the Day in The Observer newspaper.

In addition to these accolades, Bridget has appeared in various TV and radio shows including Have I Got News For You, QI, Harry Hill’s Alien Fun Capsule, The News Quiz, Dilemma, and Taskmaster Series 13 which won her a legion of new fans.

Bridget’s star-studded, critically acclaimed comedy drama series The Change (Channel 4) was longlisted for the 2023 TV Choice Awards and nominated in 2024 for both an RTS Comedy Writing Award and a BAFTA Award for her Performance in Comedy. The Guardian proclaimed that “[this] super-cool menopause comedy is like nothing else on TV”. Series Two, which is also co-directed by Bridget, will be coming out this year.

Star of Ted Lasso, Live at the Apollo, Strictly Come Dancing, and The Mash Report, as well as host of Bake Off The Professionals, Ellie is back with a new stand-up show!

Covering everything from how to keep the spark alive in marriage (it involves pressure washers), her new life with almost double the amount of ratbags (children) not to mention her stint as the nation’s sweetheart on Strictly (very much her own words), it’s a show guaranteed to put a spring in your step and a laugh in your mouth which is almost certainly, not a phrase. Come along to watch a nice lady giddily over-share because she’s thrilled to be out the house!

Ellie is a charismatic and enthralling performer on stage and it’s this very skill that has earned her a dedicated fan base over the last ten years of her career in the entertainment industry. Palavering is Ellie getting back to her stand-up comedy roots and at her best bringing the house down night after night with her relatable and extremely frank shows. Ellie's versatility and talent continue to make her a significant figure on the comedy scene.

Promoting a playlist containing the broadest church possible of Power Ballads, Mar 7th will witness Signature Brew Blackhorse Road's roof being lifted in the face of the sheer magnificence of the songs being played.

The majority of songs featured will feel instantly familiar to fans of the genre, but sprinkled throughout will be a fresh layer of glitter from more contemporary artists fighting it out with the legends of this most emotive category of hit making.
